JUst to get back to KNS's original post "What about this car for a mid-forties guy..?" I'm a late 40s guy and on impulse bought a Dinan M3, suspension mods super charger etc. pretty much dragged through the Dinan parts dept. Anyway, like the car, it's a bit overweight but handles well it's reasonably fast and looks good. That said that particular model (E46 M3) has an adolescent following and I have to admit that it bothers me from time to time. Lots of thumbs up from the 20 something crowd. It's not a HUGE deal. but it does bother me if I have to pick up a client or go to a meeting w/ co-workers. It's not an adult car. If you can live with that (I expect it will start to wear on you) go for it. Something to consider.
