A couple of days after my first public purchase my Dad said, "Talked to the pharmacist today." Long pause...panic stared setting in, then, "He want's his car waxed Saturday morning so don't stay out too late Friday night." Then he smiled real big. It was not uncommon for me to detail 3 or 4 cars on a Saturday, I detailed most of the nice cars in the area, but it was the first time he warned me not to stay out too late Friday night.

The standing rule at our house was it didn't matter how late you stayed out just as long as you got up and did whatever you were supposed to do the next day. It went right along with the no drinking rule of Call me if you need to but don't come home drunk so your Mom doesn't find out.
