Well thanks all for the input I think I now have a pretty sound idea of what is going on.
The big question for me now is whether or not I'm going to do anything about it.
The short answer is probably no. Messy job that will cost too much versus the amount of time that I would use it.
It is always good to know how things work or in this case. Don't work.
