911s are difficult environments.
I built some mdf rings for my 86 Carrera. Round in the front to get clearance to install a beefy 6.5 inch mid-base driver. I got the silk dome tweeters up on the dash. To bring the base forward, and raise the soundstage.
I tried rectangles in the rear, but went to 6.5 rounds, and used active amp crossover adjustment to give some tweek between cranking and listening modes.
Never got around to adding a sub, certainly wasn't going to add any rear weight, but I cranked it hard on the track, still do.
Never got around to altering what came in my 964s
Most of my gear is ADS, but Japan really broke through with the quality in their (particularly high end) offerings. Most of the stuff I have is over 25 years old, and it still works, hard.
