@winders, I think you're alone on an island on this. You can of course believe what you think is true. However, there is no reason to challenge anyone's reading comprehension because of the fact that few tend to agree with you.
If your car happens to be the one in your avatar with the monster wing, I can see why you think that anything that isn't fully track prepared isn't a track car.

lendaddy, I will admit that my wife is the one that picked out a Boxster as the car to replace the 356 I sold out from under her. That's another story.
Once we got it, I drove it some back 10 years ago. I've hustled that car in the canyons and chased the pack on the straight up to...well, you know. Then I decided to not drive the car because it is definitely better than I am. When that's the case, you end up getting hurt.
But just approaching the limit in a Boxster where all four tires are screaming at a good clip in a corner and you begin to see what the car has to offer. Until you realize that it takes a very skilled driver to wring out any more in the car, the destination is worth exploring. It's not that the car is difficult, it's not. It's just capable of doing more than most know how to do. Any car review will tell you the same.
