Some calibers do like long barrels, but probably not anything you would want that chambered in.
You could do it on the cheap using a Yugo Mauser in 8mm, slap it in a new stock and use a no-gunsmith sight that replaces the military rear sight.
You could also start with a Savage Scout if you can find one, or a Savage Hog hunter and add the forward scope:
