Good Friday morning folks.
We got just over 1.2 inches of rain last night. We are already ahead of the normal rainfall for a year. No one is complaining. Just a few months ago we were at the worst stages of a drought. Some parts of the state are still very dry. There is a decent size lake built in NW Oklahoma that was built as a water reservoir. Oklahoma City owns the water. We opened the dam and sucked the water downstream to fill a local water supply lake. Then the rains started in the metro area. All the lakes are at flood stages, water is being released in massive amounts to prevent flooding. Only NW Oklahoma is still dry. That lake is almost empty. Too bad gravity prevents us from sending back the water.
