??Odd?? I just looked at your pics? If you want a lip like I used then just lay up a ~.5" vertical piece at the back of the f/g. You could even embed the al. backing piece in the f/g. there is almost never a flat straight edge to any f/g as that woll be a weak spot. They always use shapes to get max. strength.
