Easy, easy, easy!!!!!
Understanding that this post is true, and therefore very serious, may I apologize for my fellow Canadians behaviour. Next, please understand that Montreal is to Vancouver, like New York is to California..... they are miles apart. Quebec is full of separtist who have been trying to separate from Canada and form their own Country for decades. The "majority" of Quebecers are very nice, normal people, like my wife (born in Montreal), but the "extremist" of French Canadians have a very strong reputation for being flat out idiots. When my wife and I visit there, we often get treated very poorly in many areas of Montreal too.
All this being said, it doesn't prevent the same thing from happening on the West coast of Canada tomorrow either? Anti-war demonstraters are a rabid bunch of idiots no matter where their location?
As a coach, I am appauled at this story and feel that this is the lowest level a human being could stoop? As for burning flags, etc. this happens all over the world today; I wish it was legal for those people to be shot!!! My poor grandfathers, one of whom I lost in a war, there is no respect.
I for one am a proud Canadian, I totally support your President and strongly feel he is a fine man and a great leader. Our Countries are blessed to have a man of his caliper at the hand in these trying times. As for anti-war protestors...... they are doing alot of damage in both our Countries, these "minority" groups gather together and receive much publicity. They show no respect for our troops, our history and our bought and paid for "freedoms".
eMail me the names of the people involved in this fiasco and I will personally write them with copies to our PM office. 1000 people in Vancouver demonstrate against the war in a city of 1,000,000 and they're on the six o'clock news? I don't understand why the minority groups have so much say/infuence in our world today?
Please remember that anti-war protesting actually originated in the United States. I have always taught my children about the honor of serving your Country, something our youth no very little about today. Anytime my wife encounters a "vet" she always thanks them for their service and usually with tears in her eyes. These men/women are very dear to our hearts!
Our family has your troops in our prayers, we are thankful for the position that the USA has taken against Iraq, we are proud to be your neighbours and allies, and we are proud to be Canadian.
My wifes brother (ex-20 year Can. Armed Forces) is now serving in Afghanistan with the UN Forces. He had personal friends killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Let me end by saying this, if you are Canadian, and post on this board, please show nothing but respect and courtesy towards our friends and allies of the USA. The very "least" we can do is "support" them in their efforts!
