Ah family. Brother was married and living in Atlanta in a brand new home on a lake. When Mom and Dad would visit they would buy meals and make their house payment because they were having trouble making ends meet. Brother was being very frugal and it LOOKED like his wife was too. After my Dad passed and my brother came down with MS my Mom spent a LOT of time there "helping out."

One day my sister-in-law asked my Mom to straighten up her desk for her while she was at work. Mom found that while my brother and the kids were sack lunching it on the frugal, the sister-in-law was eating out big time for lunch every day. AND that while Mom and Dad had been helping with mortgage and bills sister-in-law had been socking away money into her own private bank account.

Mom stopped helping and sister-in-law asked for a divorce almost immediately, and kept EVERYTHING as she had put everything in her name!!!

About 5 years after the divorce she called telling us she was had gotten audited and owed almost as much as she had bilked from my parents. She wanted my brother or Mom to pay her tax bill. We just laughed and haven't heard from her since.


Oldest brother thinks the only reason anyone in the family has more money than him is because they were lucky, and that they should share the wealth. When he was having money problems he asked for help from the brother I work for. He loaned him the money, BUT...it was put into an account that required both signatures to be able to write a check on it for anything. Everything had to be approved before he could get a check to pay it.

He still managed to spend it all without getting out of the hole so he went to work for the loaning brother to pay him back. After a couple of years he was fired because he was causing personnel problems getting employees riled up against the man instead of just doing the job he was asked to do.

For a long time they were NOT on speaking terms. When anyone asks me for money I just tell them how much I can afford to give them (usually not very much) and that it is a gift and they don't need to pay it back unless they just want to. If they don't, the next time they ask...i amazingly have all kinds of things i have to pay for and am about to lose everything i have and maybe they could help me with a gift. They usually don't ask again.

Since I am the youngest of my siblings, they typically don't come to me because I don't know anything and since I drive a nice Porsche must spend all the money I have on cars. I aint gonna tell em different, nope, not gonna do it.

Oh and mosquito bite monday is pretty much the opposite of bra.
