Not true. My best friend is a big player in the tech world. He sold his business and now does venture capital and sits on the boards of several fortune 500 companies. I asked him the same question about a graduation present for my son who just earned his BA in Economics. He said the boardrooms are filled with Macs these days.
I got my son a Macbook Air and he's been very happy with it.
