This. AVG is free, and works very well. I believe you can download it from cnet.com as well.
I am uncertain if Malwarebytes offers real-time virus protection - I thought it was active only when running the scans. This is why you also need a true anti-virus program such as AVG, McAfree, Norton...etc.
