Hard to start, esp. if cold and as temps get cooler .... one thing to try is replacing the thermo/time switch on this model. It controls the cold start injector. Failure mode is flood, according to my research, though when it was affecting my cars I never smelled extra gas. Replace them on 2 different 84 cars and solved hard-to-start cold problems. Its a sensor located on front of block, up near cooling bridge, screwed in axially, ie, wire connectors pointed toward front of car. Common failure item in Ljet cars.

Lots of experienced guys on this forum, some have done major rebuilds and refreshes on a lot of cars.

Would like to see some pictures of the car. 25 years is a long time to own a car.
