IMHO changing the oil every 3000 miles (unless it has been 12 months prior) is a waste of time, money, oil, etc.

I track my car, and ran it with ~250 miles of tracking @ 125 to 145MPH, most of it at 90 to 100°+, and ~750 street miles . Sent in my oil samples (engine, trans, and differential) to Blackstone for an analysis. The results basically said that running all the fluids twice as long before the next oil/filter change would be fine.

Contact Blackstone for a kit, send in your oil samples and let the results guide you to what you think is best.

+1. Stay away from additives and only use approved oil.
