I was in the same boat as you. After driving the 911 for over a decade my desires changed. I no longer wanted to fly around a track... Been there done that. Time for a cruiser. It was a tough choice.
Sold my perfect 911SC and bought a Corvair turbo Convertible, a car I have always wanted to restore and own.
Frankly after 13 years I was bored with the 911. Enjoying the new ride.... Shopping for a rotisserie right now... Big restoration in the works.
You should not feel guilty about wanting to move on from Porsche. Mine was lots of fun but it was time to move on to the next challenge.
I miss the pelican community but have found a great new community of Corvair owners. You will find the same for your hot rod Fords.
I am amazed at the attention I get in the Corvair... I can't go anywhere without someone wanting to talk and check out the car. The 911 rarely got any attention around town.
