a big % of dead units [no start] is a capacitor is dead not the unit
not a bad idea to have a spare capacitor on hand
replacement is quick and eazy turn off the power and unplug the wires
most caps are under $20
some units have both a start and run capacitor on the outside bit
and another for the inside fan motor
