I lived in Ojai about 50 years ago and really enjoyed it. It was really laid back then. Winter nmights could get cold, but it most always warmed up in the day. The grade up to the upper valley was pretty sweet and so were adventures up to Sespe Hot Springs. Never forgot some hotties relaxing in those natural "onsens." A Baja bug was the best way to get in there and even a slightly lifted VW bus was great way to get in for an extended weekend. Fine dining was also excellent. Real real estate bargains could be had back then. The hot rides of the times were 55 or 56 Chevy coupes jacked up in the rear to clear bigger meats. Less than $1500 would have bought a sweet 356 speedster. Dang, probably could have had the car and a small house for less than $20k all in. I was in high school then and my running but rough 33 Ford 3 window coupe with a V8 Olds back in Minnesota only cost me $100.
