sometimes there are valid reasons why a car looks untidy when being sold...case in point I bought a car where the owner passed away and the task of selling the car fell on the son who lives 1000 miles away. Son had a neighbor friend take a picture of it and a one line ad on Craiigslist. you could only see the back of the car, it was tucked tight in a garage behind a hoard of stuff.
at any rate, with very little information, and bad cellphone pictures, it was hard to to tell anything about the true condition... to make matters worse the widow is deaf mute and could not provide any additional information about the car.
some will say its a risky proposition however risk nothing..gain nothing.

after a brief chat on the phone with the son who vaguely recalled the car as being a good driver...some years ago!! I committed to buy the car on the phone because they were flooded with interest. so I had act quickly, decisively, and take a leap of faith and not judge the poor presentation as representative of the car or its owner.

also it was missing its title and was being offered as an 80's Porsche for a $6500.

I have to say that from the top it looked highly suspicious but I was drawn to the fact that there was some mystery about what the car really was, I could see the ducktail so???
turn out to be a 74 Euro Carrera clone built on a 70 E
it had a heavy layer of dust covering it with rodent tracks all over indicating that the rats had a poop and pee party over this car for last 20 years or so...YUCK
also behind the alternator it was jammed packed with leaves, paper, rat feces ect... all heavily soiled with rat pee... the most disgusting stuff on earth...
thank god they did not chew up anything...also the interior was saved due to the windows being closed.

once all cleaned up and detailed...
there was a real nice quality all steel driver with sport seats and all.
