Ron,
I figured this was the easiest way for you to see the area I mentioned in the PM. The spot where the Trooper is parked would be a great place to camp. It's very near the end of the Apache Trail near the Roosevelt dam. The only problem is that I don't think a 911 (or any 2 wheel drive vehicle for that matter) could climb out of this hole! It was pretty steep and rutted.
If I had been thinking I would have noted the lat/long coordinates on the GPS for future reference.
