She shoots my Hi-Power well but doesn't like the semi-auto initial loading at all.

We borrowed a lot of friends revolvers in all calibers and shot a lot at the farm. She also shot my Vaquero in .45 Colt. She shot them all well.

The one she liked the best was the Ruger LCR in .22WMR. We had a discussion about knock down capability, etc...all the standard arguments. For some reason I know a lot of ex Navy Seals so I asked a few of them what they thought. The response was uniform: If she likes to shoot the gun she will get good with it, the most important factors of all are familiarity and comfort which are essential in stressful situations.

A guy I deal with everyday, an ex-enlisted Seal who was a team shooter, taught shooting, fought in a lot of places, said this: "Nobody wants to get shot. In a home self defense situation most bad guys will either scoot when her gun comes out or she shoots them...a well placed WMR round or two is enough in 99% of problems."

"And she has four more."

He also said the home defense pistol of choice for the average joe is a revolver.

I have no opinion in this matter since I am not an expert...offered FYI only.
