I see too many people wearing that look. I figure that if you race and train you've earned it (and look good in it). If you carry an extra 50 or 60 lbs, you haven't earned the benefits of wind cheating fabric, and nobody really needs to see that.
Somewhere in between, I really don't have an opinion on what you wear.
Regarding the wave, a nod would be nice sometimes but I realize that people are busy.

It isn't about "cheating the wind". It is about being comfortable. The fabrics wick better and have cushioning in the right places.
