Sanded the hood on my 84 (with Mand's guidance, as she works in a body shop) ready for paint tomorrow, then started prepping the top of the 87 block for the new HG.
PorscheNut924 - you're on the right track. 9 pressure plate bolts, 4 bell housing bolts, 4 motor mount bolts and out she comes. I think this is the best way, as leaving the bell housing attached leaves you less room fore and aft. If the sensors are stuck or the bracket won't come off just break the bracket. New one is about $35. Cheaper than two hours trying to be nice to it.
