Rennline monoball installation tip
Everything went pretty much per the directions until it came time to get the strut rods inserted back into the monoball. Then it got extremely frustrating because the rod would go into the hole in the monoball but I couldn't get the rod extended far enough to get the nut back on and pull them through. After a lot of sweat and different attempts, I figured out the top of the rod has a hole in it.......and it's threaded......and it's an M6......the same size as the screw that fits in the Rennline monoball top.
Use the screw from the torque tool included in the kit (or a longer one if you have it handy) and thread it into the strut rod. Once you get the rod into the monoball, you can use the screw to pull the rod through with a pair of your favorite gripping tools.
One other thing. If you are using the rennline bar that bolts to the monoball, use good hardware. I bought a used bar, so I don't know if it was stock hardware, but the bolts that came with it were stainless, very soft and would strip if you breathed on them wrong (they were button head hex screws). I had to extract one from the monoball before I figured it out.
As a side note, check to see that all the holes are accessible on top of the monoball if you use the brace. It's hard to tighten the brace to the ball if you can't get to all the screws. Just make sure they are spaced correctly before you tighten the monoball down.
