Canadian..... and proud of it!!!!!!

I originally posted to this thread because I thought it was a sincere post regarding this tragic incident with the American hockey team. (Which I am Appalled!!) Had I known it was posted as a "dig" to stir up emotions and give people pleasure insulting each other, I would have NEVER bothered.

I have a great respect for men and women who give their lives to serve their Countries, regardless of the Country. Both my grandfathers served in the war, one of whom I lost in the war. My grandmother raised two boys without a father her whole life, both those boys served in the Canadian Air Force and were raised with a great amount of respect towards the men and women who give their lives for their Country. My grandmother was a strong and loving women, who ensured that the memories of the military would be passed on in her family.

My brother, whom I just spent the weekend with in Calgary, is serving for the NY branch of the U.N., implementing the Unicef program in Afghanistan. He served the Canadian Armed Forces for over 20 years and was the youngest Canadian Major in non-war times, retired a Lieutenant-Colonel about 4 years ago. His home and business in Afghanistan has been bombed and shot many times - his life is at risk everyday. He drives a black 1980 Fiat Spyder Cab when home and loves his car - He could be killed and never have the chance to drive it again.

These people just don't serve because there's a war! It's their whole life; they train, eat, drink and sleep it, in the event that our Freedoms are challenged. They "SERVE" our Countries, regardless of their mission, the leadership or personal beliefs.

Have some respect for us fellow Canadians! We have a long history together and we have alot of respect for the Americans, there is no doubt about it. I joined this BBS to find out about my car; after ordering parts from our host, I stumbled onto this board. After reading and posting, I have made some friends and I have come to know some really great people!!! This board is so awesome because of the people here - whom show so much respect and intelligence, it's unfounded?

I'm a Porsche man until the day I die; and I'm going to convert as many of my friends as I can........ so I'm stuck here, whether you like me or not, because this board rocks! I wish to continue making friends and I strongly respect our "Host" and will order all the parts, books and videos I can afford, to support them.

But this thread has ended my extension of friendship to some; I have lost respect for those idiots whom have lost respect for what we are truly all about. These idiots (Stole the term from my friend the Dr.) wouldn't so much as break their finger nails defending anything and they have no idea about what a sacrifice it is to "SERVE" your Country!!! I may disagree with my friends, but they have my respect - guys like Stealthn are stand up guys, regardless of what Country they were born in or what they believe?

I'm Irish Canadian, and a fighting one at that! I would die to protect my Country and Family, and I've the backbone to stand behind the statement. If I could stand in the room with some of you idiots (you know who you are), I'd smack ya but good! So lay off the crap and show some respect for the people who post on this board, regardless of where they're from, their color, origin or beliefs. And you'd better lay off the anti-Canadian stuff real quick or I'm gonna be standing in the room with ya!

My friends, your prayers for the men and women who SERVE are appreciated; an extra prayer for my brother please..... his name is Terry.

(If I sound upset, I apologize; it may be the post winter blues from being in Calgary, it may be seeing my brother in Calgary, it may be from missing my grandson in Calgary or it may be the final electrical issues I'm fixing before I get the Pcar on the road?)
