If you are going for a "none Porsche starter", make sure it is rotating in the right direction.
I bought a broken one to use as a fly wheel lock (after some modification) and it is looking just as the original
starter but it is rotating in the opposite direction. (you see it on the wear of the gear wheel)
Replacing the starter on the 944 NA is esay, don't know about the turbo.
