There's this impoverished family down the street from me. Their front yard is littered with trash, broken-down jet-skis and rusted-out, non-running junkers. I used to know John about 15 years or so ago, but haven't talked to him since he fell on hard times. I felt so bad for them, not being able to afford a running car or feed their kids. I was going to donate my '96 LE for the tax writeoff, but instead I stopped and gave him the car, with a couple bags of groceries in the trunk, and wished him the best of luck.
