You have to read and fix it yourself until ----well, forever.

Read-print out-do it. If you fail the forum will point you in the right direction.
A garage will usually advise this if honest. The inspection and diagnosis of these 26 YO cars will usually cost more than the fix---then repeat, the fix---then repeat the fix.. It will never stop.
