My thoughts on what I see..
Color does appear to be Ice Green.. was a fairly popular color in the 70's..
I had both a 76 911 and a 77 in that color. I have seen it on 77 Turbo Carreras and on a 79 Turbo. I wouldn't exactly call it rare. As far as the color code, not sure what 291 is either.. but Ice green was code 250 for 75-76 and 266 for 77.
Also, keep in mind that Porsche in the 70's was still a small manufacturer, they could care less what color you wanted.. it you wanted pink, you could have it. All you had to do was put down a hefty deposit with your order and wait for the car. For them, it was all about moving units, not about making cars that would be rare in the future.. they didn’t care. Most special order colors got the 99 paint to sample code.. if it was a Porsche color previously used they just got that code.. although in later years I think they began to use 99 code even for older Porsche colors being applied to current models.
I’ve also seen several Turbos and 911s over the years with white leather interior like yours.. I don’t think it was wildly popular, but some wanted to be different. The sunroof was an option on these cars, there was no “sunroof delete option” available as some like to insinuate these days. If you wanted a s/r you ordered it, if you didn’t, you did nothing. Again, I’m not so sure this makes the car rare, although there were definitely fewer built for the US without a s/r.
Yep, the wheels are wrong. I think I’d swap them for 17” factory style Fuchs in the proper widths.
My car is also a 78, number 2 of the 930s built for the US that year in petrol blue w/ cork
If I were you, I clean it up, get it running well and enjoy it!
