Yes, 461 is the correct number.. we were tracking that car at one point about a year ago as it was up for sale.. it was verified as the last 78 produced.. I had looked at my numbers think that my car was #12, but it turned out to be #2 of of the US run for 78We have not been able to locate car number #1 as yet.
You are correct in that most of the US car have the sunroof option. A lot of the dealers just added it knowing that they could charge for it and that the cars would sell anyway.
I was going to do the COA for my car.. but the cute sounding ladies couldn't give me enough reliable info to justify spending the money for it. They had to research it, verified that it was #2 with its early production date.. then told me it was a 99 met paint to sample, when clearly it is, and has always been Petrol Blue which is a color offered for 78. Maybe its because of the early production. She then went on to say that it had beige/tan interior.. however its cork.. and has never been changed. I have heard from others that the COA can be wonky sometimes either missing info or having incorrect info. Again, back in the day it was all about moving the units.. not so much documenting what the unit was or had. I plan to follow-up with them for research on the build through the kardex @ Porsche AG.
As far as the color of your car, it looks great when done in a proper base/clear coat.. I would clean-up that interior and see what it looks like with paint sparkling. It still may be a little odd and if so, grey or dark green looks really good with that exterior color.
We had a 77 930 at the shop that has the original interior, dark green leather, with Ice green interior.. the car is beautiful. I'll try to find a pic of that one too.
