John, I use just a normal presta chuck on a piece of 1/4 fuel line which is then clamped over the tube of a harbor freight dust blow off tool. You could do the same with the old head from the Joe Blow. I just set the output pressure of the compressor to where I want the tire, and fill till it equalizes. Worked like a charm for years. Have never used a presta/schrader adapter.
