No one has any ideas? What do people use when they put a 3.6l engine in an '01 or older car?
I emailed Sachs about it and got this reply:
After viewing both clutch kits they are identicle with the exception of the pressure plate. I don't have any technical information regarding clamp loads but I do know the '02 911 had a little bit more power so the difference could be in the clamp load. The bolt patterns appear to the same but I am only looking at pictures. The other thing to look into is the stack up height. I really can't tell you which will work best for you because we catalog our kits to OE specifications. Therefore, we don't have a lot of technical data because it is assumed we are selling OE replacements and not modified applications.
This is something you will need to look at closely to determine which clutch you will need based on the things I mentioned above.
