I have no experience with the 911 and so offer only my limited advice in a rear wheel drive car. As has been pointed out, the real reason most cars use TB is keep some weight on the front tires to avoid understeer.
So I am looking forward to learning about this amazing traction in the rear of the 911. I understand that the mantra seems to be when the rear starts to step out a little throttle can help settle it down and keep it from coming around. Or "when in doubt hit the gas!"
Of course this leads to the understeer problem. The only 911 I have driven in autox was AWD so it did tend to understeer in my clumsy hands.
