IMO, one group completely devoid of this mentality is poor people in the ghetto or 'hood. I've driven many a high-dollar car through the hood and gotten nothing but smiles and "thumbs up" type of greetings. They absolutely love expensive cars. Weird, huh?

I worked at an auto parts store in the hood of Tampa for a while when I was younger. For the most part, the folks that I dealt with there were the nicest, most courteous, down to earth folks I have ever dealt with.
