I recommend it, even if you do NOT install LEDs. It should have been there from the factory if you ask me. It is, however, very simple to do when you have the out to install the LEDs.
You'll find the lead coming from the light switch easily (it is the only lead that comes from there, leading to the combination gauge. Install an inline fuse and you are set. Takes 10 minutes tops. The LEDs have a far lower draw than the stock bulbs (they consume about 10% of what a normal bulb does), so a 5A fuse is more than adequate).
