How does Webber break a gearbox, when all he's doing is telling it when to shift, via an electrical switch? Not like the old days.... and he started in F1 5 years after the last of the manually shifted gearboxes was put on the shelf. Maybe he was hard on Formula Fords in his younger days...
It does seem like Vettel has better luck with his equipment. There have been quite a few failures that were not a result of anything the driver did. And, quite a few of Webber's poor starts have nothing to do with Webber.
I don't think though, that Red Bull gives him second rate cars, although Vettel usually gets the good stuff first, if there's not enough parts for both. Can't say I'd do anything different, as Vettel's the better driver.
I really wish Newey would retire...
