Hi,

Of course it can. The factory used the plastic manifold on 993- turbo engines, but they used brackets to secure the left & right manifold pieces to the center plenum. This kept the manifolds from popping apart.

The GT2s went one step further and added little brackets from the injector bases' mounting screws up the the center runner of the left & right manifolds. This kept them from popping out of the injector bases' rubber boots.

How much boost are you running?
Also, did you remember to switch all 10 of the rubber manifold boots from the plain non-turbo version to the Turbo ones that are fiber reinforced? With these parts, assembled clean (no oily film), we've had them hold together at 18psi, no problems.
