The cost of ethanol is still equivalent to the cost of gas, higher if you take away the gubmint interference. The process to make methanol consumes more energy that it produces so it's a net negative.
It takes more of it to make the same power.
So it costs a whole lot more to use methanol than gasoline. Plus methanol is a very dangerous poison that can be absorbed through the skin ......
