Gotta disagree with that assessment.
The second ad has been removed by the seller but I'm assuming from the discussion above that the car is now offered as parts less engine.
If you pay 12-13K for the car less engine, and 3.5K for an engine, you're in it for 16.5K BEFORE you do any other work, or even assemble the damn thing. That's getting towards the top end in asking price for high-mileage midyears, engine swap or no. Besides, once it's all apart, who's really going to want to reinstall a crappy 7/10 interior? The temptation to upgrade may well prove irresistible and the result will likely be another classified ad in 3-5 years offering the car in parts again...
