First thing first...

Don't turn it on again!

There are a few things that need doing first. Otherwise you could smoke the power transformer.

First thing first, how much do you know about electronics? Can you solder?

I restore and collect antique radios, and I would be happy to help you get your feet under you with this. That's a pretty nice set from back in the day. Philco only used that style of pre-set tuning for one year and on 3 models IIRC.

Six tubes, it shouldn't be too hard to work on this one. Especially since it is currently in working shape. And yes, it is pretty easy to add a 3.5mm switching jack to it so you can plug your iPod etc into it. I do it all the time for the ones I am giving to friends and family.
