I too have the Craftsman std. 3/8" drive universals with permanent/built-in sockets. Not the impact style. Just the plain Jane chrome 3/8" drive style. The 13mm works great on the heat exchanger nuts.
BTW for the barrel nuts, no need to buy a special tool. Make your own. Use a 3/8" drive 8mm size socket and cut the bend off of a long 8mm hex key. Voila' there's your "custom" heat exchanger barrel nut removal tool.
