Your Dad grew tired as every man does of hanging on to this life of ever increasing suffering, and decided to let go for the peace that death brings. For the son it is an irreplaceable loss of a man who means everything to him. Time and events will fill in that hole where a man once stood but never the memory of him. Now you have to carry on with only the memories of the man as solace.
