When I first purchased my '88, I made a 12 hour drive home. I enjoyed every minute. Since then, I've made several trips of 4 hours plus, in addition to a couple of 12 hour trips to SoCal. Drove up and down the coast for a week or so, then made the subsequent 12 hour trip back.
The most ironic thing? The fact that the car actually ran better after logging all that drive time. And, it actually leaked less. These things love to be driven, and really get their legs stretched. I've owned a lot of cars in my years, but I've never seen anything like this.
I think you know my recommendation.
