If you read the article, the coach did a TON of things to not make the score even higher. Telling the punt returner to not return, playing the subs, etc. It sounds like the score could have been 180 - 0 if they wanted.
Putting a huge beatdown on a team isn't - by itself - poor sportsmanship (and "bullying" lol). If a team plays clean, respects their opponent, is not taunting, etc., the score is irrelevant.
I played numerous sports all through HS. I was on winning teams, and losing teams. And on teams that got murdered. I never, ever for one second wanted an opponent to back down on us, no matter how badly they were beating us. I fully expected them to play hard and give us their best until the last whistle, regardless of the score.
