If you're looking for clean Pine (or hard wood) pallets for a project, just visit your local produce wholesale market (every big city has one). You can either buy from one the produce warehouses, or just ask any food service delivery person where they go and sell the surplus pallets. At the company I worked for, the owner of the company would pocket between 2k and 3K a week just in selling the surplus to a "pallet yard", soft wood would pallets sell for about $1.50 each and the hard wood ones would sell for about $3.00 a piece. They in turn would sell to the cold storage companies, and food service companies for twice what they paid for. Oh before I forget, stay away from the blue pallets that read "Chep" those May be the best, but they belong to a government backed pallet exchange program, if you get caught with those, and you have no business having them, you may be liable, and may face prosecution (I think).
