Why? Well, first of all I am a huge fan of the original SWB and I even love the tea tray tail turbos if functional. I'm also a fan of 60's Ferraris and particularly the nose. I'm also a fan of 208 mph in 1986, so when I got the opportunity to collect one of these a few years back I did. It's also fun to have something that nobody else in the neighborhood has, even if she isn't so beautiful. I must admit that I'm in no hurry to get her back on the road as I'd rather spend my time on some other stock 911s. I also owned an Alfa RZ, one of 271 from the early 90s and enjoyed her very much. She was nicknamed "Il Monstros," but none the less accomplished 1.2 to 1.4 G s on the skid pad on stock rubber. The 3.0 engine with that suspension kept up with experienced drivers in 996s on a very serious mountain course. Its fun to experience various cars and also to be a bit different. I also remember my old Lambo Miura from 1967 which used lots of trim pieces from the lowly 850 Fiat. I kick myself for passing on an early to mid seventies 911 with a custom nose with bulbous headlights in the position where the turn signals usually reside. That car was cheap at the time and in retrospect I consider that I should have had a more open mind.
