Ah, o.k. - that changes things. It would be tough to see open sights under those conditions, especially held up against a deer. Hmmm... I've never seen any sort of tritium or fiber optic sights for the Blackhawk, though. And, as you have discovered, scoping them is a real challenge. The front post does come off - if you look real close, you'll see a tiny little roll pin holding it in. The rear sight, of course, is an easy swap, assuming something were available. One would think some aftermarket manufacturer would take advantage of that and offer some sort of low light sight solution. Maybe someone does, but I sure have not seen one.
Hmmm... might be time for a Super Blackhawk Hunter, with the top rib that has integral scope mounting notches. The Super Redhawk has them as well, but it's a double action with a markedly different grip shape and a really crappy trigger.
