When I replaced the timing chain on my old 305 AFTER I got everything back together a friend told me about a two piece timing chain cover that makes things easy. With the two piece chain cover you don't have to drop the pan. I figure I have another 200K miles before I have to worry about it again. With the 322,000 it has now I will make a note to do the timing chain at 500,000 miles. That will take another 16 years or so. Wow, 2029! I may just hire that done.
