Wow, Max it sounds like some amazing medical procedures saved your dad. Imagine trying to replace the intake or exhaust on your 911 while it is running. It is wonderful he is doing well. I miss my dad and I had him around until he was almost 83.

And you will find almost everyone likes the paycheck part of the job the most. I have said for years I never wanted a career, I just want the steady paycheck.

Hopefully you will find a job you enjoy or at least don't mind doing.

Give you dad an extra hug for the Stijn group.
I don't mind this job. It is a little slow during the downtime while waiting for prototype parts to arrive, but that will change once I am better versed in the company procedures and forms and stuff. Everyone else has 2 or 3 projects that they jump between when one hits a point where they are waiting for parts or something. And the engineering department here is being built up since it was previously at another company within the corporation, so the guy are all close to my age and we get along well. It is a pretty casual atmosphere. Like I said, we are all going to the drag races Thursday, bosses treat. I live just a couple miles from work and I am actually closer to GMG (the ALMS and World Challenge team that also does POC club racing and Porsche service) and Porsche Motorsport North America (they are literally right across the street from each other). PMNA is moving to Carson which is still close and will have a test track, but for now they are in a little, nondescript building smaller than IMPCO Technologies, where I work.

Industrial engines aren't as cool as cars, but I'm in the new product development group so there is a fari amount of imagination I get to use which is nice.
