I just replaced the front pads on my 2000 Boxster S with Ate pads from our host. They seem to work fine, but I have limited miles on them. I agree with measuring the rotor thickness to see if they are at their limit or not. Why throw the money away if new rotors are not needed? I measured mine and at 66K miles they still have quite a bit of life left in them!
