best thing about the early 924-style dash is that you can rotate your tach so that peak HP, or redline, is at the 12-oclock position. you can also put the crappy VDO odometer/speedometer off to the side.

i've talked to a LOT of 944 turbo race car drivers and they all say that they like the early round gauges better. many of them bought aftermarket tachs so that they would be front-and-center rather than in the peripheral vision.
